Who would have imagined that when the combined forces of the Kingston & Surbiton District Synagogue and the Kingston Liberal synagogue joined together over12 years ago and invited local schools to participate in work shops about the Holocaust that the work would spread so rapidly.
Two small communities with a few dedicated volunteers and the inspiration of five survivors of the Holocaust started one day with two schools and now are running six days with schools queuing up to be included and over 1200 school children involved.
The survivors tell their moving stories to the children before they break out into study groups to discuss what they have heard and how they can prevent intolerance in any form occurring in their lives.
Volunteers are welcomed either as facilitators, organisers, caterers, presenters (aged 18 to 30).
