25 November: Paul Glicker, The Galapagos Islands. This biological marine reserve in the Pacific renowned for the number of native species.

Weybridge JACS Programme for August 2015

5 August:  Jean Haynes – Life as a Lady Bailiff. Recovering debt or seizing goods – and facing many sensitive situations.

12 August: Dr Richard Barnett – Surrey NHS Update. Richard’s annual visit, giving us information on the past year’s developments.

19 August:  Alan Baker – Cockney London Musical Memories. Some of the songs we all remember such as ‘Lambeth Walk’, ‘Roll Out the Barrel’, etc.

26 August: Outing – Thames River Trip From, and return to, Runnymede, followed by afternoon tea.

Wednesday, 4 March: Harry Townsend: Kew Through the Looking Glass Founded in 1840, Kew Botanical Gardens contains the world’s largest collection of living plants.

Wednesday, 11 March: Bernard Jacobs: Mauchline Souvenir Woodware. Lots of cute little boxes – decorative antique range named after the town of Mauchline in Scotland.

Wednesday, 18 March: Ros Luper – Samson and Delilah ; The bible story of love and betrayal depicted in the famous painting by Peter Paul Rubens.

Wednesday, 25 March: Brian Darcey – Living with Ghosts of the Tower of London. Since its foundation in the 11th century, this awesome fortress and prison has housed many famous people.

18  February: JACS Luncheon Club  First of an occasional gathering together to chat, discuss how to put the world right, and  enjoy a light lunch. (We meet at 1.00pm)

25 February: Fun Quiz – Errol Miller stimulates your grey matter! With prizes for the winning team.
