Weybridge JACS Programme for August 2015

5 August:  Jean Haynes – Life as a Lady Bailiff. Recovering debt or seizing goods – and facing many sensitive situations.

12 August: Dr Richard Barnett – Surrey NHS Update. Richard’s annual visit, giving us information on the past year’s developments.

19 August:  Alan Baker – Cockney London Musical Memories. Some of the songs we all remember such as ‘Lambeth Walk’, ‘Roll Out the Barrel’, etc.

26 August: Outing – Thames River Trip From, and return to, Runnymede, followed by afternoon tea.

All Meetings commence at 2 pm unless otherwise stated. Annual subscription £4. Each meeting £3.00.

P.M. Netanyahu condemned the stabbing of six people at the Jerusalem Gay Pride Parade on Thursday.

Jerusalem Mayor Barkat said “the atrocious act tonight in Jerusalem is an attempt to hurt the quality of life in the city and to prevent the basic right of freedom of expression… In Jerusalem there is a place for everyone.”

Four members of a seven member Hamas cell who allegedly fired on a car last month, killing Malachy Rosenfeld (25) and wounding 3 others, have been arrested. Rosenfeld was the sixth Israeli killed in attacks carried out or planned by Palestinians released under the Shalit deal since April 2014.

Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi hailed ties between his country and Israel and railed against “stupid” boycotts in a speech to the Knesset
